Headquarters at 10.30 a.m. I then picked out a man from a

number of others. He was very like the man who threw the

children over. The man I picked out is the accused. The

upper garment of the man I saw throw the children over was

similar in colour to this garment Ex.VI.

On 17th July I saw a number of different kinds of straw hats

at the central Police Station. I picked out a hat similar to

EX.V.

(Mr. Lim objects to the production of this hat.)

The man I saw on the bridge was very thin his hair was long

and shaggy and he had high cheek bones. and sunken-in cheeks.

It was for these reasons I picked him out at the Police

Station

X X. Mr. Lim. When I first saw the man I was on the very

beginning of No.2 bridge. From the time I saw him to the time

he had thrown the girl and then dropped himself it sermed

about a minute. It is difficult to tell. When he climbed

over the railings he had his hat on his head. When I first

saw him he had his hat on his head. It is difficult to see at

that distance if the boy struggled when thrown in. There was

screaming going on. The little girl seemed to be looking over

into the nullah. I got there just as the boy was being picked

If the girl did try to run it was such a small movement

up.

I could not ser. I think the little boy had a white shirt but

cotton frock. I don't know the color. The accused trousers

were dark I can't fix a color just dark. I do not know

Michael Pine's parents. I did not see them after this incident

I may perhaps have seen them but I have not spoken to them and

don't know them by sight. I did not count how many men were

on parade. I did not know any of the parents of the children

who were thrown into the nullah. I have not spoken to any of them after the incident. I told a newspaper reporter of what
